In early 2008, a program was established to provide support to residents. This support is in the form of mentoring and guidance in areas such as:
- managing finances
- apartment maintenance
- how to obtain community services
- tenant relationships/community building
- creating & sustaining natural personal support networks
- Employment Opportunities
Support is offered by volunteers, largely drawn from the member faith communities. Volunteers are expected to provide support to no more than 2 households. The existence of the program is made known to the residents and they are be encouraged to make use of it. The program is readily available but support will only be provided at the resident’s request. The confidential nature of the communication between the resident and the volunteer is an important policy of this program.
