Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) has a longstanding tradition of hosting free, accessible and family-friendly summer BBQs across our communities. These annual events are a highlight for our team and bring tenants and neighbours together to share food, enjoy activities, access resources and information, connect with local leaders, and strengthen relationships. They also provide meaningful opportunities to build goodwill and create connections among families/individuals in surrounding neighbourhoods.
This year, MHI’s Summer BBQs are a part of a Bytown 200 celebration series taking place in our communities throughout summer 2026. Celebrate Together: Bytown and ByWard Market 200th Anniversaries - Ottawa 200 Celebrations | City of Ottawa.
These free, family-friendly, and accessible BBQs will feature food, storytelling, and activities that bring tenants and neighbours from surrounding areas together. By bringing Bytown 200 events directly into MHI neighbourhoods, these celebrations ensure the anniversary is accessible, meaningful, and shared by all.
