MHI's Land Acknowledgement
Multifaith Housing Initiative, including its offices and nine housing communities, is situated in Ottawa on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg (Algonquin) Nation. We recognize this is Algonquin Territory, and we acknowledge the enduring presence, rights, responsibilities, and relationships of Algonquin peoples to these lands and waters.
Ottawa is home to a rich diversity of Indigenous peoples including First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities whose lives and contributions continue to shape this city.
MHI is committed to advancing reconciliation through respectful relationships and active partnerships with Indigenous communities, and through our work to provide safe, affordable housing in a way that honours the spirit of this territory.
