Ala’a Shadid (Al) joins Multifaith Housing Initiative as Executive Director, bringing over a decade of senior leadership in the non-profit housing sector. Previously Operations Manager at Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation, one of Ottawa’s largest non-profit housing providers, he led multi-million-dollar projects, managed large teams, and partnered with municipal and provincial leaders to advance housing policy. Al has also served on the boards of ONPHA, Options Housing, and Gloucester Housing Corporation. Known for his collaborative leadership, values-driven decision-making, and commitment to inclusive, sustainable communities, Al believes safe, affordable housing is essential to equity, dignity, and long-term social well-being.

Sheldon has over 23 years of fundraising experience and has worked with non-profit organizations and charities in Vancouver and Ottawa. Throughout his career, he has successfully raised funds to support child health, the environment, post-secondary education, international development, the arts, and affordable housing.
This is Sheldon's 10th year at MHI and as the Director of Fund Development, he is responsible for all aspects of fundraising for the organization. |

Sahada Alolo is the Director of Community Engagement at the Multifaith Housing Initiative. In her previous role as Director for the Ottawa Guiding Council for Mental Health and Addictions Secretariat, she co-led the development of a new Mental Health and Addiction crisis response system in Ottawa.
Sahada has held significant positions, including Co-chair of the Community Equity Council of the Ottawa Police Service, a member of the City of Ottawa Anti-Racism Advisory Table, and a board member of the Snowsuit Fund. She is also the President of the Ottawa Muslim Women’s Organization and an Executive Member of the African Canadian Association of Ottawa. Sahada earned her bachelor's degree in English Language and Comparative Religious Studies from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Non-profit Management and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Creighton University, U.S.A. |

Mohammad has been a valued member of Gloucester Housing Corporation since 2014 and, following its amalgamation, he has brought his extensive expertise to Multifaith Housing Initiative. As Director of Finance, he plays a critical role in overseeing financial management, including financial statement preparation, budget analysis, and ensuring financial integrity.
With over 25 years of experience in accounting, Mohammad has developed a comprehensive understanding of financial management across diverse industries. His career includes international experience in Bangladesh and Qatar, where he gained valuable insights into global financial practices. |

Jennifer is a seasoned communications professional with eight years of experience, primarily in the nonprofit sector. For the past three years, she has served as MHI’s Manager, Communications and Marketing, leading the modernization of the organization's communications strategy. This includes enhancing MHI’s social media presence, employing new communications technology, and strengthening storytelling efforts to better connect with MHI’s diverse audience. Passionate about storytelling, Jennifer specializes in content strategy, brand awareness, and online engagement.

Sarah has 10 years of experience as a leader in the social and community housing sector. Sarah is passionate about housing as a human right and ensuring everyone has a place to call home. She brings a diverse skill set that includes customer service, resource and project management, financial management and process improvement that will benefit MHI’s growth into the future. Sarah participates in various workgroups, committees and networks in Ottawa and Ontario related to housing and community.

Michou Rasolofomanana joined Multifaith Housing Initiative in March 2025 as Office Manager. She plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, supporting internal coordination, and overseeing events that engage and strengthen the MHI community.
With more than six years in executive leadership at a multinational subsidiary, Michou brings a deep commitment to excellence, strategic thinking, and team motivation. Her strong organizational skills and adaptability enable her to work effectively with stakeholders from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds. Bilingual in French and English, and holding a Master’s degree in Business and Sales, Michou is known for her calm, thoughtful approach and her dedication to delivering high-quality results. She is committed to teamwork and contributing to MHI’s mission of delivering safe, affordable housing to all. |
