ABOUT THE VETERANS’ HOUSE CHARITABLE GIVING PROGRAM THROUGH SMOOTH COMMERCE’S PLATFORM
Every November, Canadians pause to reflect on the sacrifice of the men and women who have served and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. Did you know that up to 10% of the homeless in Canada’s cities are veterans – a tragic and unacceptable fate for those who have served.
Smooth Commerce is proud to support Veterans’ House: the Andy Carswell Building in its goal of providing shelter for homeless veterans in our nation’s capital and across the country by launching a charitable giving feature. Their clients Denny’s Canada, Basil Box, Maker Pizza and the Greek Souvlaki House have added an optional donation to their mobile app or web ordering to encourage their customers to support this initiative.
At the start of Veterans’ Week 2020, Denny’s Canada, Basil Box, Maker Pizza and Greek Souvlaki House customers will be able to make a donation to Veterans’ House through the restaurants’ mobile app or web ordering platform. Customers can add a donation (of varying amounts) to their cart from the restaurants’ menu or they can add it directly from the “review order” screen at checkout. The ability to make a donation to Veterans’ House through these restaurants’ ordering platforms will be available until the end of 2020.
All donations made as part of this program will be matched by Lysander Funds and Canso Investment Counsel, lead supporter of Veterans’ House and investor in Smooth Commerce. Denny’s Canada and Basil Box will also be matching their customers’ donations.
